Celebrating Sweet Violet’s “Gotcha Day” with special violet-scented treats!

Celebrating a very special day to-day! Violet’s “Gotcha Day!” Three years ago today I brought this beautiful sweet darling angel home from the farm in Manhattan, Illinois! She has brought such immeasurable joy and love to our lives ever since! We made Violet Ice Cream and Violet Cookies to mark this amazing anniversary day! ❤️ Violet candies from Paris! A special cocktail made with violet liqueur, and of course, lots and lots of violets! Xxx Love love love this precious girl to the moon and back again! ⭐️

Violet Ice Cream

5 large egg yolks

½ cup granulated sugar

1 cup heavy whipping cream

1 cup whole milk

3 tablespoons crème de violette

20 drops purple food coloring

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the egg yolks and the sugar, and use a whisk to blend the ingredients well. In medium sauce pan over medium-high heat, combine the cream and milk. Bring to a low boil, and remove from heat. Slowly combine the milk and cream mixture with the eggs and sugar mixture. Use a wire whisk to combine well. Add the crème de violette and food coloring, and use a spoon to blend together well. Make sure there are no streaks of color.

Churn in ice cream maker according to the directions for the machine.
