Tuna Pizza Pie

Tuna Pizza: A savory pie for National Pie Day!
My Mom and Dad both loved pies so much. For National Pie Day, I made a savory pie that our family ;earned about from the Griset family. They lived in our town for two years. We learned so much from them about French cuisine. Like a Salade Niçoise (a style that is popular in Nice), this recipe is an example of how tuna is so often celebrated in French cooking. It is such a treasured family recipe that my mom entered it into a Wausau Daily Herald recipe contest in 1984 – and it made the paper! This wonderful, simple and oh-so delicious pie is made with mustard, albacore tuna, crushed tomatoes and mozzarella. Happy National Pie Day!
Tuna Pizza Pie

Spread tomatoes on tuna.
