Seroogy’s Chocolates Pecan Pie

Dec 23, 2020 | Food Styling, Holiday Baking, Pecans, Pies, Recipes

“Life is like a box of chocolates.”                                           -Forrest Gump

One of my favorite movies ever is Forrest Gump. One of my all-time favorite chocolates is Seroogy’s Chocolates in DePere, Wisconsin.

My brother sends me an assortment of Seroogy’s Chocolates a few times each year, and always for Christmas. Their angel food and toffee is incredible.

Life sure was like a box of chocolates this year, so for Christmas dessert I chopped up some of my chocolates and folded the chocolate bits into the Christmas Pecan Pie. Christmas dessert was “like a box of chocolates!”

Who will get the chocolate-covered cherry?

Seroogy’s Chocolates Pecan Pie

1 cup corn Syrup

3 eggs

1 cup sugar

2 tablespoons butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups pecans, rough-chopped

1 cup chocolates, chopped

2 frozen pie crusts for making holly berries and leaves- one whole wheat and one white

1 frozen pie crust for filling with pie filling

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl, using a large spoon, mix together corn syrup, eggs, sugar, butter and vanilla. Stir in pecans and chocolates and pour the mixture into pie crust.

Cut holly berries and leaves out of two extra pie crusts. Place leaves and berries around pie crust.

Bake for one hour.
