“Dressed Up” Pierogies with Sour Cream and Apple Sauce

For pierogies, sour cream and apple sauce are a “must!”

Decadent, savory appetizers for holiday time! I doctored up Severino pierogies – Sauerkraut & Mushroom and Potato & Cheddar Cheese – with lots of dried basil to make this fabulous party appetizer.

For pierogies, apple sauce and sour cream are a “must!” 

I love Mullen’s Apple Sauce because of the flavor and nice chunks of apple, especially in the chunky variety.

“Dressed Up” Pierogies with Sour Cream and Apple Sauce

1 package Severino pierogies.

2 Tablespoons butter

1 Tablespoon dried basil

1/2 Teaspoon pink Himalayan sea salt 

1/2 Teaspoon freshly ground multi-colored peppercorns

In a frying pan over the stovetop, melt butter. Add in pierogies. When golden brown on bottom, flip pierogies. Sprinkle basil, salt and pepper over pierogies. Fry until golden brown on both sides. 

Serve with sour cream and chunky apple sauce.
